Undefeated middleweight Andreas Katzourakis, 6-0, trains with Ronnie Shields
Undefeated best middleweight prospect Andreas Katzourakis, (6-0, 5 KOs), now trains with famed Ronnie Shields at his gym, Ronnie Shields Boxing in Stafford, TX, just outside of Houston.
Guided by Split-T Management, the native of Athens, Greece is excited to work with Shields and the world-class athletes who train at the facility, including WBC Middleweight World Champion Jermall Charlo.
“I love working with Ronnie, it’s only been a month but we clicked right away,” said Katzourakis, 23. “I’m young in my professional boxing career, but every day I’m learning more and really enjoying the city, the gym atmosphere and the camaraderie between the athletes. “
“I’ve fought a few times with Jermall, I know he has a big fight coming up this month. It was a great experience sharing the ring with a world champion, there is so much to learn from him.
Shields said: “Andreas has been here for about a month and we work really well together. I believe he has the talent and the desire to become world champion. He has become a true member of our team and is ready to work every day to improve himself.
“He had some really good fights against Jermall and it shows he has the skills and the willingness to challenge himself and improve. I am very excited for his future.
According to Brendan Segalas of Split-T Management, “I recently visited Andreas and Ronnie and I am really excited about what can result from this partnership. Ronnie and his team are the best at boxing and have proven time and time again that they can get the best out of a fighter, most recently with Jermall. Frankly I’m delighted with Andreas’s situation, he’s in phenomenal shape and we hope to announce his next fight shortly.
