Ryan Garcia Says Fans Should Credit Jake Paul For His Undefeated Boxing Record: ‘Most Boxers Fight Guys Who Can’t Fight Anyway’

Ryan Garcia seems to believe that a lot of the criticism against Jake Paul is unfair. The lightweight contestant gave “The Problem Child” some props.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer made his professional debut in January 2020. Since his first victory over fellow influencer An Eson Gib, Paul has achieved an unbeaten boxing record of 5-0.
His most recent fights saw him score knockouts against former UFC fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley. His win over “T-Wood” in December 2021 was a landmark knockout for the ages. Following the win, Paul received “Knockout of the Year” honors from ESPN and DAZN, among others.
Despite his unbeaten record, the 25-year-old has been criticized by the sporting community. The main reason is that Paul has yet to fight a boxer or even an accomplished striker. As Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley were both considered wrestlers during their MMA careers.

Paul’s friend and fellow boxer, Ryan Garcia, came to his defense. The former WBC interim lightweight champion discussed the YouTuber’s rise to prominence on MMA hour with Ariel Helwani. Garcia seems to believe that much of the flack Paul receives is misguided.

“I love Jake, he’s my guy. I have nothing bad to say, and I hope he continues to do good and make the right decisions. Obviously, he beat everyone I gotta give him credit, he’s had five fights now. You gotta think about it, most boxers fight guys who can’t fight anyway. You can’t really claim that. it does something wrong if you look at something truthfully and are honest.
What do you think of Ryan Garcia’s comments about Jake Paul? Who would you like to see the next YouTuber fight?
