Binge CMO to lead marketing and growth of streaming service Paramount +
Louise Crompton switched Binge to the ViacomCBS network and is the head of marketing for her new subscriber-based media streaming service, Paramount +.
A company spokesperson confirmed that Crompton joined the Paramount + team as regional vice president of marketing and growth. Crompton has spent the past two years developing the streaming service Binge in Australia, which officially launched last May and is owned by Streamotion.
Previously, she spent over nine years with the Expedia Group, first as Senior Marketing Director before being promoted to Marketing Director for A / NZ. Her resume also includes supporting agency roles with One Digital and SP Partnerships.
Last week, ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand announced that the Paramount + subscription video streaming offering will hit Australian shores on August 11, 2021. The new service sees the group renaming its 10 All Access offering.
According to the company, Paramount + will offer a host of premium entertainment content, including programs from CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, Smithsonian Channel and Sony Pictures Television. The service is priced at $ 8.99 per month and includes over 20,000 items.
To mark its local debut, the company announced that it will offer the second season of the Australian drama, Five bedrooms. Also on the cards from a local point of view and the start of production in the coming months are Worksheet, Last King of the Cross and 6 festivals.
A bunch of exclusive premieres have also been touted, including The first lady with Gillian Anderson, Viola Davis and Michelle Pfeiffer; Dexter starring Michael C Hall; and Yellow jackets with Juliette Lewis and Christina Ricci.
Announcing the Paramount + offer last week, Viacom’s chief content officer and executive vice president Beverley McGarvey optimistically said the platform is designed to have something for everyone.
“We are on the way to becoming as powerful a player in streaming as in television. By leveraging the iconic Paramount brand, state-of-the-art infrastructure, as well as an incredible pipeline of must-see content, Paramount + will deliver an exceptional consumer entertainment experience, ”she said.
Paramount + joins a growing number of streaming services offered in Australian marketing, including Binge, Stan, Netflix, Disney and more. Further details on the group’s management team are expected to be announced closer to the launch data.
